This is a genuine opportunity to operate as a trusted advisor to senior leadership within a well-established, financially strong construction business with a strong forward project pipeline across Queensland.
If you are a commercially minded Senior HR Business Partner who wants strategic influence, executive exposure, and the ability to shape workforce outcomes in a complex, unionised environment — this role delivers.
The Opportunity Reporting into senior leadership, you will act as a true business partner — aligning people strategy with operational delivery across multiple sites and projects.
You will:
- Partner with senior leaders to design and execute aligned people strategies
- Lead complex ER/IR matters within a unionised QLD construction environment
- Manage investigations, grievances, and performance processes with authority and fairness
- Oversee the full employee lifecycle including workforce planning, remuneration, salary reviews, allowances, LAFHA and FIFO arrangements
- Contribute HR insights into strategic planning and tender submissions
- Strengthen leadership capability across project and operational teams
- Drive cultural, engagement and safety-aligned people initiatives
- Relevant administration tasks
This role offers both strategic input and operational ownership — with the autonomy to influence outcomes.
What You Bring
- 7 years HR experience within the QLD construction industry
- Strong ER/IR capability in a unionised environment
- Deep understanding of QLD industrial frameworks and site-based operations
- Confidence partnering with senior leaders and challenging constructively
- Commercial acumen and sound judgement
- A pragmatic, solutions-driven mindset
You are resilient, credible, and comfortable operating where HR must balance risk, relationships, and business performance.
