Senior Estimator

Our client is a well-established and highly regarded construction contractor with a strong pipeline of civil, infrastructure and building projects across Victoria. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join their Estimating team, working closely with the Operations Manager – Commercial and taking responsibility for an Estimating Coordinator.

This is a confidential search being managed exclusively by RSG (Recruit Search Grow). The successful candidate will play a key role in securing new work through accurate, competitive and innovative tender submissions on projects typically valued above $5 million. 

Key Responsibilities

• Review tender documentation, attend site inspections, and clarify scope and design queries directly with clients
• Prepare detailed estimates, staging and traffic management plans, and construction methodologies in conjunction with the operations team
• Identify and mitigate risks and opportunities across scope, program, safety, quality and stakeholder considerations
• Source and manage subcontractor and supplier quotations, ensuring competitive pricing through the estimating system
• Complete tender submissions, schedules and Expressions of Interest, and participate in tender reviews with key stakeholders
• Lead post-tender negotiations, attend tender interviews, and manage project handover to the construction team once work is awarded
• Maintain accurate tender records and supplier/subcontractor data, and drive continuous improvement in estimating processes

About You

• Minimum seven years’ relevant experience in estimating or construction management
• Proven experience estimating projects greater than $5 million
• Construction White Card (preferred)
• Current Victorian driver’s licence
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines under pressure
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Proficiency in Expert Estimation and Bluebeam (essential); Agtek experience highly regarded
