We are partnering with a leading national organisation in the insurance building and construction sector to appoint an experienced Estimating & Quality Manager.
This is a senior leadership opportunity responsible for driving performance, quality, and consistency across a national estimating function, while playing a key role in shaping operational excellence and client outcomes.
The Opportunity Reporting to senior leadership, you will take ownership of the estimating function’s performance, quality standards, and team capability across multiple locations. You’ll lead from the front—coaching teams, improving systems, and ensuring best-in-class delivery across all projects.
This is a high-impact role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys balancing leadership, technical expertise, and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a national team of estimators to achieve KPIs, SLA targets, and conversion rates
- Drive quality assurance and continuous improvement across all estimating outputs
- Review escalated jobs end-to-end and implement corrective action plans
- Monitor quoting pipelines, aged quotes, and team capacity across regions
- Oversee QA reviews for major projects and ensure compliance with pricing and reporting standards
- Identify trends, resolve recurring issues, and implement scalable solutions
- Support catastrophe (CAT) response efforts when required
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders
- Contribute to pricing strategies, market insights, and tender reviews
About You You are a strong leader with a deep background in insurance building or construction estimating. You bring both technical expertise and the ability to influence and inspire teams nationally.
Key requirements:
- Proven experience in large loss insurance estimating
- Strong ability to interpret plans, scopes, and construction documentation
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing or mentoring estimating teams
- Excellent stakeholder and client communication skills
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of industry rates
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and estimating systems
- Current driver’s licence
