Senior Design Co-Ordinator– Retail Fitout / Shopfitting

About the Role
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-driven Design Coordinator to support the delivery of retail fitout projects from concept through to completion. Working closely with clients, designers, and construction teams, you will play a key role in ensuring design intent is successfully translated into high-quality built outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate design development across multiple retail fitout projects

• Liaise with clients to understand design briefs, brand requirements, and project expectations

• Manage and review design documentation including layouts, shopfronts, and services drawings

• Coordinate consultants (architects, engineers, certifiers) to ensure compliant and buildable designs

• Assist in preparing and submitting design approvals (landlord, council, authorities)

• Work closely with project managers, site teams, and subcontractors during construction

• Track design deliverables, timelines, and project milestones

• Coordinate procurement of materials, fixtures, and finishes

• Manage design changes, RFIs, and revisions throughout project delivery

• Ensure all designs align with brand standards, budget, and program constraints

Skills & Experience

• 2–5 years experience in design coordination, interior design, or fitout/construction

• Background in retail, commercial fitout, or shopfitting highly regarded

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software

• Strong understanding of construction processes and documentation

• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

• High attention to detail with strong problem-solving ability

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or Construction (preferred)
