Senior Contract Administrator

We’re partnering with a leading contractor delivering marine and civil infrastructure projects across wharves, ports, and coastal developments. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Senior Contract Administrator or Junior Commercial Manager to take ownership of commercial outcomes while working with an experienced leadership team and a strong project pipeline.

Role Overview

You’ll play a key role in the commercial and financial management of major marine and infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance, cost efficiency, and contractual performance. Working closely with Project Managers and Commercial Managers, you’ll contribute across all phases of the project lifecycle — from procurement and contract administration through to closeout and final accounts.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer head and subcontract agreements, including claims, variations, and payment assessments.
• Prepare and review budgets, forecasts, and cost reports to support commercial decision-making.
• Oversee procurement, tender evaluation, and subcontract negotiations.
• Manage progress claims, contract correspondence, and dispute resolution processes.
• Monitor cash flow, risk, and cost performance across project delivery.
• Prepare accurate monthly financial and commercial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to process improvement, ensuring commercial systems are efficient and compliant.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• 5 years of experience in contract administration or commercial management, ideally within marine, civil, or infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of major contract forms (AS2124, AS4000, NEC, etc.).
• Excellent commercial and financial acumen with strong attention to detail.
• Experience using contract management and cost control systems (e.g., Jobpac, Cheops, or similar).
• Confident communicator with proven negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Ambition to progress toward a Commercial Manager role.
