Project Engineer – Subdivisions & Land Development (South Australia)

About the Role We’re partnering with a well-established civil contractor delivering residential subdivisions and land development projects across South Australia. With a strong pipeline of works spanning greenfield developments, bulk earthworks, roads, drainage, and service installations, they are seeking a motivated Project Engineer to join their growing delivery team
.
This is a hands-on site-based role suited to a Civil Engineer with at least 4 years of industry experience who enjoys working across the full lifecycle of land development projects — from bulk earthworks through to practical completion.
Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the planning, coordination, and delivery of subdivision and land development projects
• Oversee bulk earthworks, road construction, stormwater drainage, and underground service installations
• Liaise with site supervisors, subcontractors, consultants, developers, and suppliers to maintain smooth project delivery
• Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and design changes
• Manage procurement, subcontractor packages, cost tracking, and forecasting
• Prepare QA documentation, ITPs, SWMS reviews, and progress reporting
• Ensure compliance with WHS, environmental, and council authority requirements
• Support Project Managers with programme management and stakeholder communication

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (mandatory)
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in civil construction, ideally within subdivisions or land development
• Strong understanding of bulk earthworks, pavements, services (stormwater, sewer, water), and council specifications
• Experience working closely with developers and local authorities
• Commercial awareness with exposure to cost control and forecasting
• Confident communicator with strong coordination skills
• Ability to work across metro and regional South Australian sites as required
