Project Engineer – Civil Infrastructure (South Australia)

About the Role

We’re working with a leading civil contractor delivering large-scale infrastructure across South Australia, including roads, bridges, bulk earthworks, transport, and defence projects. They are seeking a motivated Project Engineer to join the delivery team.
This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with a Civil Engineering degree and at least 4 years of industry experience, keen to work on major construction packages in both metropolitan and regional locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the planning, coordination, and delivery of road, infrastructure, and defence projects
• Liaise with site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to maintain smooth operations
• Review and interpret drawings, specs, and design changes
• Manage procurement, cost tracking, and scheduling activities
• Prepare QA documentation, ITPs, and project reporting
• Ensure compliance with WHS and environmental standards across all works
• Support senior engineers and PMs with delivery outcomes and client engagement

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (mandatory)
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in civil infrastructure (including roads, highways, bridges, earthworks, or defence projects)
• Strong understanding of site-based operations, technical standards, and construction sequencing
• Confident communicator and collaborative team player
• Willingness to travel to regional sites when required (DIDO/FIFO opportunities available)
