Project Engineer – Civil Infrastructure

About the Role
We are partnering with a leading civil contractor delivering major infrastructure projects across Townsville and North Queensland, including roads, bridges, bulk earthworks, transport and defence works. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a motivated Project Engineer to join their delivery team.

This is a hands-on role suited to a civil engineer with 4 years’ industry experience who is keen to work on large construction packages across both metropolitan and regional locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the planning, coordination and delivery of civil infrastructure and defence projects
• Liaise with site teams, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution
• Review and interpret drawings, specifications and design changes
• Manage procurement, cost tracking and construction schedules
• Prepare QA documentation, ITPs and project reporting
• Ensure compliance with WHS, environmental and quality standards
• Support Senior Project Engineers and Project Managers with delivery outcomes and client engagement

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (essential) with TMR experience
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in civil infrastructure (roads, highways, bridges, bulk earthworks or defence projects)
• Strong understanding of site-based construction, technical standards and sequencing
• Confident communicator and collaborative team player
• Willingness to travel to regional sites as required (DIDO/FIFO opportunities available)
