Role Overview
As Operations & Account Manager, you will manage the day-to-day execution of freight services while being the key contact for strategic client accounts. You’ll balance operational efficiency with responsive client support, overseeing everything from transport scheduling and team leadership to service delivery, process improvement, and customer engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management

  • Lead daily freight operations across road, air, and sea services.
  • Coordinate warehousing, transport schedules, and subcontractor performance.
  • Manage internal logistics systems and ensure visibility of freight movement.
  • Ensure compliance with Chain of Responsibility (CoR), WHS, fatigue, and dangerous goods standards.
  • Streamline operations for service delivery, safety, and cost-effectiveness.

Account Management

  • Own client relationships across key accounts.
  • Understand supply chain requirements and proactively meet or exceed service expectations.
  • Handle escalations, conduct service reviews, and resolve challenges swiftly.
  • Provide regular KPI and performance reporting.
  • Drive retention and identify organic growth opportunities.

About You

You’ll be a great fit if you have:

  • 5 years in freight, logistics, or transport operations.
  • Strong background in managing both delivery and service outcomes.
  • Experience leading small operational teams or subcontractors.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Confidence with rate negotiations
  • Working knowledge of logistics systems (TMS/WMS/Macship) and strong tech literacy.
  • Understanding of compliance frameworks within transport/logistics.

Bonus if you have:

  • Experience across both domestic and international freight forwarding.
  • A background in client development or project logistics.
  • An eye for continuous improvement and process optimisation.
