An established national organisation within the building, insurance and restoration sector is seeking an experienced State Operations Manager to lead and optimise operations across NSW and ACT.
This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence, financial performance, team capability, and sustainable growth across metropolitan and regional locations, while partnering closely with executive and state leadership to deliver strong commercial outcomes and exceptional service standards.
Key Responsibilities
Operational & Financial Performance

  • Lead end-to-end state operations with accountability for P&L, cash flow and margin performance.
  • Drive achievement of monthly and annual KPIs across sales, invoicing, productivity and gross profit.
  • Ensure accurate job costing, forecasting, and timely invoicing to support strong cash flow.
  • Analyse performance data and reporting to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, coach and develop a multi-disciplinary leadership team across metro and regional offices.
  • Build a high-performance, accountable and customer-focused culture.
  • Ensure clear role expectations, regular KPI reviews, and succession planning.
  • Support ongoing training, capability uplift and performance management.

Process Improvement & Governance

  • Develop, refine and implement best-practice operational systems and standard operating procedures.
  • Identify recurring operational issues and drive sustainable solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards and governance frameworks.

Business Growth & Client Engagement

  • Support and drive business development initiatives across NSW and ACT.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
  • Partner with sales and strategic development leaders to execute growth plans.
  • Represent the business at industry and client events as required.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Champion workplace health and safety across all operations.
  • Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, policies and contractor management requirements.
  • Lead by example to promote a strong safety-first culture.

About You
You are a commercially astute, hands-on leader with a proven track record managing complex, multi-site operations.
You thrive in fast-paced environments, lead with energy and integrity, and are confident balancing strategic leadership with operational detail.
Key Experience & Attributes

  • 5 years’ experience in senior operational or business leadership roles.
  • Strong background in insurance, building, restoration or related services.
  • Proven P&L, KPI and people leadership experience.
  • High energy, decisive, and resilient leadership style.
  • Strong relationship-building, communication and influencing skills.
  • Sound understanding of WHS obligations and best practice.
  • Comfortable working across metro and regional locations.
