HSEQ Manager – National Level
A leading construction and infrastructure group is seeking an experienced HSEQ Manager to drive health, safety, environment and quality excellence across operations nationally. This is a senior leadership role responsible for shaping strategy, ensuring legislative compliance, improving systems, and empowering teams to deliver industry-leading outcomes.

About the Role
As the National HSEQ Manager, you will:

  • Lead the development and implementation of strategic HSEQ policies, systems, and processes.
  • Provide expert advice to senior leadership on HSEQ matters, legislation and industry best practice.
  • Oversee governance of risk registers, audits, incident management and IMS performance.
  • Ensure all accreditation requirements (ISO14001, ISO9001, ISO45001, prequalifications, etc.) are maintained.
  • Develop and deliver HSEQ reporting that drives accountability and actionable insights.
  • Manage incident response, investigations, regulatory communication and case management.
  • Mentor, develop and support HSEQ teams across the business to build high-performing capability.
  • Build strong internal and external stakeholder relationships, effectively representing the organisation at client forums, audits, workshops and tender interviews.
  • Champion a positive HSEQ culture with visible leadership and coaching.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Governance

  • Implement best-practice systems that exceed regulatory requirements.
  • Govern audit programs, SMI schedules, and close-out of actions.
  • Maintain and pursue industry accreditations as required.
  • Oversee HSEQ databases and ensure accuracy of reporting.

Incident Management

  • Ensure all incidents are managed in line with incident management plans.
  • Lead or support incident investigations (ICAM).
  • Work closely with regulators within required timeframes.
  • Guide injury management, rehabilitation and return-to-work processes.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Represent the business in client meetings, audits, forums and workshops.
  • Build strong relationships with industry HSEQ leaders and regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure client expectations are understood and integrated into HSEQ delivery.

People Leadership

  • Mentor direct reports and support onboarding, development planning and performance reviews.
  • Role-model HSEQ behaviours across all levels of the business.
  • Support initiatives that foster health, wellbeing and high-performance culture.

About You
You will bring:

  • 10 years’ relevant construction industry experience.
  • Diploma / Advanced Diploma / Certificate IV in WHS/WHSO.
  • Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, EBAs and industry standards.
  • Exceptional communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated capability leading teams and driving cultural change.
  • High attention to detail, strong organisational capability and a proactive approach.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively partnering with senior leaders.
  • Current Australian driver’s licence.
